South Hadley, Mass.
July 9 1863
Rev. Geo. P. Tyler.
My dear Pastor
I take the liberty of sending you the enclosed letter thinking that it may possibly be of use and interest for Sabbath School Concert.
It was written for a Sabbath School which supports pupils in Miss Rice's school in Oroomiah [Persia] and lithographed for friends who wished copies.
I do not know that you ever have difficulty in obtaining material for Monthly Concert, but it has occurred to me that letters from different mission stations, which we receive occasionally might be of some value to you. If they should be of any service, I should be very happy to copy and send them to you whenever we have any of sufficient interest.
Gould and Lincoln have lately published a book entitled "Woman and her Saviour in Persia" which gives a most interesting account of the progress of the truth among the Nestorians during the past fifteen years.
It has been compiled by Rev. Mr. Laurie of West Roxbury from material prepared for him by Miss Fiske.
If you have not the book, it will give me much pleasure to send it to you, as I think Mrs Tyler and yourself will enjoy reading it.
In two weeks I hope to listen to your words again I trust you are in better health than last Spring.
With affectionate regards for Mrs. Tyler and yourself
I remain yours -
Helen M. French.
