Home of Uncle Sam
Troy, New York Ashley 2-7000Dear Susie Sweet,
As usual we had trouble with the car on the way home, but we made it. I'm also having a helluva time writing with my finger all bandaged up from the accident with the top of our car Sat. nite.
I am thinking about that terrible sounding alarm clock that will go off early tomorrow morning. I wish I had it Sun. morning. From now on it is going to come with me. Two out of the last three time aunts and grandmothers have done lousy jobs of waking me up. I need either my alarm clock, or my brother armed with a pillow.
When we returned to my aunt's house after taking my little darling home, Mike's father told him that, "He knew how to get lipstick on, so he ought to learn to take it off.["]
Every once in a while I reach for my ring to play with. I guess there wasn't any tomorrow.
I have already started counting the days until the X-mas vacation. We have had an unusual amount of trips to Troy this year, I hope it can keep up. I don't think there will be anymore trips before the X-mas vacation but we have to plan something for the Yule season.
Do you ever go away during the vacation? Would you like to go on a trip with American Hostel trips? Or something.
Enclosed is a thread (or blonde hair) I found on my shirt. You know what that means. [the hair is threaded through two holes in the paper, and is still with the letter]
I'll try to get my mind off you and get some homework done.
Love and kisses
Andy
[A note was included with the letter. It appears to be a page from Sue's diary.]It belongs to Andy. We are not going steady, though.
I was planning on giving it back to him, I think on Sunday. But he could not get a car to come over before they left for home. (Long Island).
He will answer me probably this week and tell me what he wants me to do with it.
He wants me to come down there for a while during Christmas vacation.
I really miss him so much. I can't stop thinking about him. What shall I do - I can't wait that long.
It is a beautiful ring. My first name & his last both start with "S." The name of his school is Southside High.
He brought me a darling little red stuff dog last weekend. (The Bar Mitzvah weekend)
