Dear Sue,

I'm really having a ball. At the present time there are only 6 of us here. Including myself, three of us speak English and three others speak Italian. Everyone except me speaks French.

I've had one French lesson. My homework is to learn to count up to 60. All the teachers here speak French and understand English, but don't talk it.

Judi Cummings, from Montreal, and I went: [sic] horseback riding yesterday. Both of us are very sore. We can hardly move. I hadn't been on a horse in over three years.

The sportsmistress gave me tennis lessons. I'm doing much better. I like the tennis lessons here better than those at my other camp, because these are private.

Yesterday we went to Lutry. It is the nearest town. We took out a rowboat. Lutry is famous for its pastry. Boy, is it ever good.

I told you the wrong address. It is:

Le Grand Verger
Chateau de Mémise
Lutry, Switzerland

One of my roomates [sic] comes from New York City. Jean has come here for 3 winter terms and 4 summer sessions. I haven't met the other girl yet. She comes from Spain. The third girl hasn't arrived as of now.

This place is typical in its attitude. I had some things of Larry's and I wanted to return them. I couldn't go to him, he had to come here. You can't stand in the lobby in a suit without a jacket on.

On the plane I met 2 boys from Philadelphia and a girl from N.Y.C. For lunch they served us bullion soup. What do you think we did? Put sugar in it thinking it was tea. What a taste.

Love always,
Winnie
