Dearest Andy,
Today I received your letter postmarked Passaic, New Jersey. Are you visiting your aunt? It was a "complete" letter. If you know what I mean? I mailed my letter to you last night, so you probably won't receive it until Monday. But I think that it was very similar in content to yours, agree? It was serious, in most parts. Honestly, my letters are so inadequate. It always surprises me at how often we think alike. All the time, just about, it seems to me.
To answer and comment on your letter - - I had a terrific, out-of-this-world-marvelous weekend!! You should not have to even ask. It is I who is asking - -
I met some of your friends and if you ever want me to come back, I hope I can meet more. Do you want me to drop Richie a note or something, just to let him know I exist?
Oh - Please tell Jerry I am sorry I dozed off on his shoulder. He must have been embarrassed!
Can Bob Hanje drive at night?
Don't worry about the drinks at Shelah's party. I know you had nothing to do with it.
WeI told mom, but I don't think daddy knows. She was not angry at you or me. She does not hate you for that or for any other reason. And, I do not hate you either, can't you see that? Please don't be sorry about anything. I am not. You don't have anything to be sorry about.
I thought that your parents were in the room the night I called. You were in the kitchen, right? Were you surprised at the call? I am so glad you said you will call in January. I was hoping you would but did not want to suggest it, though.
Will you please excuse this writing? It is a mess, I know. I[t] seems you see nothing good of mine. Either it is terrible, sloppy handwriting or I am all knocked out. You must think that I am always tired. I'm not. Just to prove it, on January 30 I will be wide awake, only thing is, I won't even see you on Saturday night, will I?
Don't ever worry about one little lie. Everyone is entitled to a few! That does not change my feelings one ounce!
I don't see why we would ever have a fight, for any reason. Not with our system of talking things over first.
Since Sunday night, late, my tummy seems to be okay. Don't worry about it. How's the foot?
So you kept that promise about the date?! Are you sure it was not hard to keep? After all, I can't do anything or even find out about anything, so "you're on your own."
When would you go to Mike's house? Sometime this winter? It would probably be a blast!
Maybe sometime I will see high tide, real high!
Thanks for the mistletoe you havenot [sic] thrown the rest of it out, have you? Don't!
I don't remember what happened in the movie (Pillow Talk) when they talked about a Pot Bellied Stove. - Darn it! - So could you, or would you, please explain this paragraph to me?
"I thought something was bound to happen when we spent more time together, but you still remind me of a pot bellied stove on a cold winter morning."
Are you aware of the fact that you enclosed a blank sheet of stationery? It certainly is beautiful paper. Almost as nice as mine!!
What is that chain in the envelope from?
Nothing new. Just write to me and think of me. I am always thinking & talking of you. Every other word is "Andy this or Andy that." You can ask mom or Diane, or anyone.
Love,
SEI guess I could send the berries back, but, who needs berries?
