A Letter Written on Jan 2, 1960

January 2, 195960

Dear Sue Ellen,

I must admit you are a much better correspondent than I, but actually nothing ever happens around here so there is not much point in writing. But now I do have some news for you so I am writing.

Last night I went out with Marshall - that boy I was so upset about at the Conclave. He apologized most humbly and everything has been patched up. I don't know if it is still "serious" but at least it's friendly. The way it happened is very funny so I'll take a minute to tell you.

We went to a summer Conclave reunion and the night before we were both in Brooklyn. Somehow we both ended up at a dance given by the Temple youth group. We were both surprized [sic] (and shocked) at seeing each other there. He didn't say hello or even ask me to dance once. He stayed with a friend of mine all night. The next day he came to the reunion at the girls house where I was staying. He left the reunion early and that night before I went to Chanukah services with my friend from Brooklyn, he called and asked me to go with him to see Harry Belafonte at the Palace. Boy was I thrilled. So I saw him Friday and everything is O.K. now, I guess.

What is new? Thank you so much for the list of committees. It will be most helpful. Please say hello to your family for me and wish them a happy new year. It was good hearing from you. Write soon.

Love,
Wendy

P.S. Sorry this letter is so short and one sided but I haven't slept off New Years Eve yet.
