Darling,

The weather in the last two days has been just gorgeous - no clouds in the sky, temperature over sixty degrees and even the flowers in the garden are starting to blossom. Just wait, probably there will be a snow storm next weekend. I should have called you on Sunday Saturday but I didn't have enough time. Someone gave me a ride home on Sunda Saturday - I can't even remember which day I left - so I saved a little $. A fellow freshman on my floor told me Saturday morning that his parents were coming up from Westchester and he offered me a ride home. I arrived home at five o'clock, and unloaded the luggage - including fifteen pounds of dirty laundry. The family looked healthy and happy - much more than the last time I visited them. After another home-made supper - am I being spoiled - we talked over about dear youthful college life. I didn't mention subject x, they were in just too good a mood for me to mention it to them at that moment. I'll probably explain it to father tonight or tomorrow.

I have finished my history assignment for the next month including such interesting facets of history like Imperialism in the Ottoman Empire etc. I am now in the midst of translating La Symphonie Pastorale by André Gide. Most of my college friends don't return for the Easter vacation until Thursday or Friday. I stopped for a moment at the High School and talked to Mr Hemmerly, my past dramatics teacher and Mr Sadensack - "Have English course - Must work." Phone just rang. It was Dean Terry who is going to Yale University. He wants to know if I want to go out Thursday night - he's getting the dates. I studied at the Scarsdale Library all day Monday.

This afternoon I become the chauffeur for sister - are females spoiled! She has dancing lessons at Fox Meadow. I also have to pick up my shoes in town. Tomorrow, I visit the orthodontist and the "Battle of the Braces."

The family is visiting my orthodox relatives in Brooklyn for Passover on Friday night. At this time, I wish your family and relations a most happy Psach and joyful holiday. May this festive yet symbollic [sic] holiday be enjoyed and revered. My family sends you the warmest wishes on this occasion.

I readily understand the problems you will have on your visit to New York this coming weekend. I do have to return to the college on Sunday because of transportation difficulties. Because you do feel that you don't want to meet the family except if Im here, I leave an possible alternative in mind. My family would be very willing to offer any advice or invite your family any time during your visit. If nothing else why don't you at least give us a ring on Sunday - I don't mind talking to you. If you do find you have some spare time maybe some arrangements could be made. Our telephone number is SCarsdale 5-0381. 301 Boulevard, Scarsdale. Your family has been so kind to me. I wish you would accept to some extend our invitation.

Enjoy the vacation

Love Forever
John Michael
