Thurs. evening March 4
Dear Sioux Sue and Lar,
Mom and I are about ready to go downtown. Mom has a few errands to do and I'll tag along. The weather has been like Spring all day and I have that golf course feeling.
We had a good Kiwanis meeting and Board meeting last night. I got to bowling in time to bowl all 3 games and did well in the first 2 games, but I got a 7-10 split to start the last game and never recovered. I had another 7-10 split later in the same game. I felt very tired. But my average is still above 165 and I suppose I'll stay there the rest of the season. Only 5 weeks to go.
Spoke with Uncle Ray tonight. He was making TV dinners for himself and Grandpa. Aunt Rosella, Stephen, Ragna and Michael will be in Amsterdam tomorrow night. The younger Friedmans want to ski. They'll probably go back to Cold Spring Harbor Sunday night or Mon. A. M. We hope to see them.
Mom will take over here I don't have that much to add. The letters I mailed you last night probably didn't reach you today anyway. The mailbox had an empty sound when I dropped the envelopes in so I figured I missed the pick-up.
I went to the bank this noon and deposited $60 to your account, Lar - duplicate slip enclosed. SE, here's $10 so you won't feel pinched for change on your week-end. [no longer with the letter] If you don't spend it, you will probably need it for something else - like golf.
I spoke to Reva a little while ago. Daddy will drop your things off there tomorrow after work. Ira took the 3:23 train to Rochester this afternoon - he was all excited.
I hope the weather continues mild for your Yale week-end, SE. If it rains, your velvet cloak (coat is too mundane a word) will spot, so let's pray that it doesn't get wet.
Larry, one of the clippings I enclosed in yesterday's letter to SE was a picture of Peggy Russell, announcing her engagement. Today there is a new item about men who have been taking a course in meat cutting finishing up their training, and Spencer Kniskern's name is one of those listed. There aren't two Spencer Kniskerns are there?
I watched part of Shindig and part of Danny Kay show last night.
We had no good mail today. Hope your hourlies weren't too bad to take, Lar, and that you did well on them. Did you ever resolve that English final mark? Please explain to me what I'm supposed to do about the CEEB scores.
Love and kisses,
Mommy [Eleanor F. Friedman]
