My dear Miss Turner:

This is the not letter of appreciation that I want to write you. I feel sure a week from now that I shall want to express the thoughts that are bubbling up in my mind. I do not know when I have had such a wonderful day as you gave me in South Hadley.

I am writing this hurried line to ask if I might have Miss Purington's statement when conferring the Degree. Miss Isabel Stewart of the Department of Nursing and Health is anxious to have this to insert with the announcement in the Teachers College Record. Unfortunately, the issue in which it is desired to mention this has to go immediately to press, and if it would not be too much trouble, I would be grateful if you would kindly place a copy in the enclosed envelope [no longer with the letter] in order that it may reach Miss Stewart in time. Only of course if Miss Purington is willing. It was too beautiful a tribute to a [...] the college desires it.

I could never say what the event meant to me - only those who have struggled with an unrecognized profession with a profound belief in its value to the community could possibly understand.

With much appreciation of your response to this request, believe me

Very sincerely yours,
Annie W. Goodrich
