My dear Jennie -
The ribbon I send is nothing very expensive but I thought would be pretty for you to wear around your waist & tied at the side with your thin dresses. I have some of the same style only blue. How do you like my lawn. I bought 12 yds & mean to put a good many ruffles on it. We have the promise of another beautiful day. One week from to-morrow school will be over. It scarcely seems possible. I have on my gingham this morning, the first time I have worn it to school this season. Hope the children will like the plaques, you the ribbon & all of you the tambourines. I expect to be quite busy sewing this week, as I want to have my clothes in a little better order. Dont [sic] forget to send the yoke as I am anxious to finish
itthe underbody before I leave.Ida seemed pleased to get your letter Saturday. I don't know when she will answer it. The girls are very anxious for you to go to the Lake with them. They spoke of writing to Mama when they sent the tambourines, I fear they wont [sic] be able to as they take a sketching lesson this afternoon & it will take the whole afternoon.
Write soon - With lots of love -
Your sister

Much to my disappointment the girls did not get the tambourines off to-day. They came home from their sketching lesson very tired & have gone to bed early so as to get up to study before breakfast to-morrow. The piece of lace is what is left from the inside of my hat, don't you think it is very pretty - only
118 cents a yd. I think my hat is going to be very pretty, have only faced the brim. The outside is to be trimmed with that beautiful blue crèpe you sent me for my birthday - pink silk roses & silver pins. I hope it will not disappoint me. Mrs Muldaur asked me to-night if I had heard any thing about coming next year, so tell Mama to be sure & write what she thinks. I am willing & would rather do just as she says. I have hardly given the idea of coming next year a moment's thought. I hope you will not be disappointed about going to the Lake. Ida & Minnie are looking forward to a very delightful summer. I hope Dudie will grow strong enough for next year's work.I was weighed to-day & how much do you think? All of 106 lbs. isn't that pretty good after a year's teaching. I weight 108 last fall, so I am only 2 lbs short. I think I had on more clothing then than I did to-day. I bought me a pair of slippers similar to those you had last summer, three straps & expect to get a great deal of comfort out of them. We girls all feel oppressed with the amount of sewing & mending we want to do.
I took my mull to the laundry this afternoon. It is to be done Thursday & is to cost $1.00, which I think will be very very cheap if it is done nicely. I am quite anxious to see it. I will send my box the last of this week or the first of next. If you see Dudie tell her I mean to write to her in a few days. Give my love to her & to Mrs Moore. I suppose I shall not be able to see them before next fall, though perhaps I may.
The school children are all anxious for the close of school. I am so glad the weather continues cool & pleasant. Don't expect another letter from me this week as I shall be very busy indeed.
Write soon. Love to all -
As ever
Alice -
