A Letter written on Jun 6, 1934

Wed. eve.

Dearest Bette:

Just think in a few more days I'll be seeing you again, and does that seem good. You think you'll be able to laugh at me working but I'll fool you by the time you get home I'll be all through with my tests. I have two Friday morning and two Monday morning. All I'll have to do after you get home will be to wait for Thursday night.

I'd like to know what the idea is of sending me a letter with the corners all burned off. (Please explain)

Last night Eddie and I went swimming over at Mt. Tom and the water was perfect. It was the first time I have been in the water this year and it was perfect.

When you write of being out in the canoe every night you certainly make me envious. I wish I could be there with you.

Wait until you see me in a cap and gown then you will be able to get a good laugh. A week from tomorrow night and I'll be a high school graduate. It doesn't seem possible.

I haven't been to one rehersal [sic] yet. I suppose I'll have to get in one or two before Thurs.

I am going to play in the orchestra so I'll be playing for my own graduation. I have played for other peoples graduations but never for my own.

(The orchestra on the radio is now playing "A Thousand Good Nights")

Have we got a class that is different or what have we. One of the girls in our class got married on May 19, and she is going to graduate with the rest of us just the same. This is something for class of "34" to talk about. I'll tell you more when I see you.

Here's hoping the time passes quickly till next Monday when I hope I will see you. So until I see you which I hope will be soon,

Love,
Thomas.
