WednesdayDear Mother,
I'm so excited & thrilled that I imagine I shall be very incoherent. Probably you can guess the reason - a letter from Uncle Russell. I think he is perfectly wonderful to offer to pay my expenses & everything. I am absolutely overwhelmed. He sent me a check for $10[.] This is the letter
Dear Louise:I spoke to your father some time ago about coming to Dorothy's wedding & told him that I would be very glad to pay your expenses. I spoke to your Aunt Grace a few days ago & she said she would be very glad to have you stay with her. I am enclosing check for $10- & if this is not enough let me know. I shall be very glad to see you there at that time & hope we may have a good day. I do not expect very many of my family to be there & consequently I shall be very glad for each additional member. With much love
You scamp, you knew all about it & wouldn't tell me a thing. When you asked me if I had heard from him I thot there must be something up but I didn't expect that it was anything like this. Of course I would have to take all my best things. What would I wear to the wedding? Having no coat makes it kind of bad. I should think my blue dress (the one that you have). Will you send it please. I should get new shoes. Of course I want to get permission as soon as possible too.
What shall I do about writing to Uncle Russell. I suppose I should answer right away. Would I go Friday afternoon & come back Sunday I think that would be the way. And that gives me time to get some work done too. I was going to have my hair washed Saturday anyway as it has been 6 weeks. I can have it marcelled next week some time. I am sending this special as I want to hear from you just as soon as possible.
Heaps of love,
Louise.
