New. Haven. City. Hotel. Apr. 6thMy dear Dora.
According to promise, I will write you though it is sometime yet before we shall realize the pain of separation from loved friends.
But Dora, do you see where I am? I have left Waterbury for good and very thankful I was to do it too, for I do not like the place, and should not choose it for my home I think.
Well Dora! I am here in New. Haven, in the City. Hotel seated upon the floor, not quite the Low [?] for tea at the Sem, writing to you - I found my cousin Kate at the depot in Waterbury, and when I arrived at my uncle's found their house almost turned upside down, preparing to leave the city, and on Thursday we came to New. Haven. where I expect to remain, until Wednesday or Thursday, when my cousin and myself will probably go to Plainville to visit another cousin, and shall also visit in Southington - whether I return to New. Haven. or not, I cannot certainly say, but perhaps I [...] not. At any rate you need not look for me in Waterbury. Depot.
I do not intend starting for the Sem before three weeks from last Thursday. At least I do not expect to now.
But no more now. Excuse haste, both in penmanship and composing.
Good Evening - I remain
your friend
Kate. B. Clark.
