Dear Cousin Susie
I suppose you are a wondering why I dont write wel I will tel you I had much rather receive letters than to write them well I was glad you got to your place all right but sorry the rain & trains frustrated your plans in stopping to Church the Teacher opposite us said it was the poorest Convention she ever attended but the lecture was fine she said you missed the best part of the Convention if you did not hear it - she knows Miss Tallman that is with you ask her if she knows Miss Isadore Eldridge of New Bedford I suppose your School closes this week for a few days & you wil be enjoying Thanksgiven with your folks when you get back I shal expect to hear from you & what a nice time you had I dont expect any company nor go eny ware. Clinton & family are wel all but Melvin he has a bad cold so he hasent been to School the last week we are having nice warm weather now for the time of the year hope it wil continue so till after Thanksgiven). Herbert had a nice time he was gone a little over a month & went over a great part of Conn he went to Wales to his Grandmothers from thare to Warren from Thare Frank went with him to Springfield from thare Brookfield then back to Wales from thare he started at 5.10 in morning for New Haven going through the following places Stafford from thare to Rockville & Hardford to Meriden & New Britton & arrived in New Haven at half past 2 all the way on his Wheel & from N.H. he went to Bridgeport to another Uncles & from thare he came home as or to New Bedford on the cars his uncle paying his fare & he just enjoyed his journey he made no stops when on his wheel only to get a glass of Milk crackers Apples or cookes I only wish I could go off some ware & have a change of scene & air for I am so tired of this Old kitchen dont know but I wil have to be Content & end my days in it. I hope you wil have a nice time & write me all the news we shal be anxious to hear from your Father & Mary & all the rest please remember us to all we would be glad to see eny of them down here we are wel as usual hope this wil find you in good health which is the greatest of blessings please excuse these scribbles dont let eny one see them so wil close with love & best wishes for you
