A Letter written on Mar 2, 1900

My dear Sister:

Your letter of Feb. 24. with its enclosure of $29.50 was duly received.

But my figures do not correspond with yours. You say that on the note of Jan. 15, 1897 it pays interest and reduces the principal to $98.00[.] Now I should say it reduces it to $96.12.

My figures are as follows:

Face of note  $138.50
Dec 26 '99 pd. towards interest      13.39
Jan 27 1900 " interest in full to date      11.80
"    "    "        "    " on principal      13.50
Leaving              " Jan 27, 1900    125.00
Int. on 125.00 from "    "    "
to Feb                            "    "           .62

Amt.                        "    "    "     125.62
P.O. order      29.50
Leaving principal Feb. 27, 1900    $96.12
with interest pd. to that date.

Harvey called and canvassed the village for the Life [?] of Moody last week.

I am kept very busy these days. Sometime I hope I shall get time to write a real letter but today I am afraid you will have to be content with a column of figures and a scrawl.

Ida joins me in sending love.
