Stoughton, Mass.
Mar. 11, 1900.My dear Susie,
Thank Mrs. Copeland very much for her kind invitation. I should write to her if I knew her name. I dont [sic] see any special reason now why I cant [sic] come, and I should enjoy it exceedingly. The week after we shall be having reviews, and I dont [sic] know as it would be quite so interesting to a visitor as advance work, but it will be oral work, and then you could have a good talk about apparatus with Mr. Arnold.

We are to have a grand temperance rally in the Town Hall tonight, as tomorrow comes town-meeting. Tuesday our Japanese social comes off. I think we shall have a good time and only hope it will do some good in arousing missionary enthusiasm.
Your idea for Laura is a brilliant one.
With very much love,
Elizabeth.[There was nothing in this letter to identify Elizabeth fully, but another letter to Susie mentioned Elizabeth's full name, and her entry in the biographical directory indicated she lived in Stoughton.]
