A Letter written on Dec 11, 1894

312 N. Court St.
Rockford Ill. Dec. 11. '94

My Dear Cousin Mary,

I wrote you more than a year ago and in Sept. or Aug. wrote you a card, but have had no answer. I hope none of you are sick. We feel anxious to hear, so I write again, hoping you will receive this and will answer, as soon as you can.

My Uncle was very ill in Sept. with hemorrhage of the stomach, so it did not seem he could recover, but he is about again, although not strong. We are so thankful he is spared to us, for I do not know what we should do without him. We were invited there Thanksgiving and were so glad to be able to go there again that day.

I recently had a letter from cousin Howard Weston who lives in Eureka, Humboldt Co. Cal. It seems pleasant to hear from him. He is right by the Pacific ocean. How are al your family. Are Harvey & wife well and enjoying life in India? Is Susie at Mt. Holyoke and where is George? Do you hear anything from Aunt Henrietta and family, the Luthers or cousin Almira Carpenter? What is the latter's address?

I wish we might see the Union book. We have been very anxious to do so. Have you one for us, if so, we should be delighted and would pay the express or postage, whichever is cheaper on the book. Please write soon. Much love to all.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Affectionately your cousin
Marie L. Holman.
