A Letter from Lester Russell
to Carrie Gowing
Mar 4, 1906

West Derry, N. H.
March 4, 1906.

Dear friend Carrie:-

Probably you will say the unexpected has happened when you receive this letter. I have had it in my mind to write to you the whole year, but this is the first genuine attempt.

I have had a very pleasant year although I think it has been the bussiest [sic] one that I can remember. I suppose you are as busy as every one else, for I heard the other day that Holyoke was a great place for "plugs." By the way I would like to exchange banners with you, our banners are very pretty. To go on with the Holyoke proposition, you are probably glad with all other students that "mid years" are over, however we have not received our marks as yet but we expect to have them tomorrow. When do you have your spring vacation, we have ours the first week of April.

I suppose we will have another class reunion this summer and if you have any suggestions, I shall be very glad to receive them as I am on the committee. I shall expect to have some of that fruit cake, which I think was made in Hudson and I guess you can imagine who made it, it was very nice anyway.

If you come home by the way of Boston, let me know and I will see you on the train. Hoping to here [sic] from you, I am your friend,

Lester W. Russell.
