A Letter Written on Nov 21, 1897

My dear girl,

Just a line for fear the memories of the Thanksgiving-tide be too overwhelming and the lost blessings obscure the precious ones that still remain.

Don't let it be too sad a day, dear, and don't let yourself get blue & forlorn. Say to yourself rather an exultant Te Deum for those who are "remembered among Thy saints in glory everlasting."

Thank you for the souvenir of the alumnae meeting. I was very glad to see it.

Martha Snell is home, but I've only just met her on the street. I've been rushed to death the last month and just able to drag around with a hard cold this last week.

How's Abbie? I've been quite worried over her. Her last letter was so tired & forlorn.

I am sure with each succeeding Thanksgiving Day I am more & more thankful that Miss Cowles took it into her fussy head to put us together & to tell us we had got to like each other.

Very lovingly
L. F. B.
