A Letter Written on Mar 25, 1894

Dear Nellie,

Your letter arrived yesterday morning and I thank you very much for your invitation, and I do wish I could accept it. I should be delighted to go with Lucy to visit you, but I am afraid it is not best this time. Although the new part of my spring wardrobe is to be very small, there are a great many little things that need to be done and I am afraid I ought not to spare the time, but the reason that, more than this, keeps me, is that I know Mamma feels as though my vacation was very short. I am away from home so much that I think I ought to spend all of my vacation at home that I can. I hope I can come to see you sometime, perhaps during the summer vacation, if I do not now.

Lucy is telling you what time she will arrive. We have had great discussions about the day she had better go. There seem to be pro's and con's for every day. Although I have been asleep about half the time since I came home I still feel very stupid and can not think of any thing interesting to write. I am afraid you will have to imagine the brilliant part of this letter. Please thank your sister very much for asking me to come with Lucy. I should like very much to see you and your friends.

With very much love,
Annie A. Lyman.
