Maplewood Hotel,
Maplewood,
N.H.My dear Miss Turner,
You may have been wondering if I care for the course in physiology after all. I did, and I am always glad I took it and I always believe that I got more out of that course than many other courses at had at college.
As I never was taught to work for marks or grades the condition I received from the June examination do [sic] not bother me at the least, though it did not give me pleasure on the other hand.
During the past two months I have been spending my vacations in four places and I have not learned yet whether I can change college or not as my mail do [sic] not always reach me.
If you don't mind may I ask you to give me a chance to remove my condition before the fall term of 1920 recommences. I am planning to stay in South Hadley for about a week before college opens whether I shall be able to transfer to other college or not.
As my books are mostly in my trunk which is not here I had no books by which I can have a review of my physiology. In fact this summer goes away so fast that I hardly realize that I must be prepared to face my next year's work at college.
Wishing you health and a pleasant summer,
I am,
Cordially yours,
Laura Hua-tsai Liu.
