My dearest Jeannette:-

Am hoping that the public will let me write you a nice intelligent letter for once in Ans. to your welcome one, rec'd Monday. I certainly can not fool you with my musical sentences. Smart daughter! Like Mother! Like Child! Ha! Ha! [cat doodle]

Sat. was a fairly good day - 67 books out, and I was weary at that. Your dad came for me (Scandal) and we ate at John's. Was'nt that nice? I went to Owego at midnight and Anthony met me at Church St. Mama was home, but I stayed at Janes. Sun. morning I gave Billy his first tub bath. It came perfectly natural to me. He never cried a bit. Marge sort of dreaded giving him the first one and I guess Aunt Jennie did too. But leave it to me! It surprised Anthony some. I changed his diapers (no 2) etc. I guess Jane has'nt even done that. You see I really do love babies. Are'nt you glad?

Prof. Redington came up in A.M. while we were at breakfast, and you should have seen me. I looked better the next time he called. A, Marge, and baby left at 2.30 for Saranah. It started raining after they left, and poured the rest of the day. Jane & I went down to Mama's about 6 P.M. and stayed until nearly ten. Mama is so happy in her own home. Just like a child with a new toy. Incidentally I took down the $2000.00 Bonds - which the Bank released. That's another thing off my mind. Jane and I went back to her house in the pouring rain, but I decided to take a taxi to train. Left on the 11.16 for Bing. Did it rain hard in Holyoke?

Monday night I went to see the "Rogue Song." Laurence Tibbett is wonderful. I hope you will be able to see this picture. Last night I intended going to a dinner (do you remember the Library club. telling about an interesting speaker coming?) Well his lecture was on "Black" the ex convict. I tho't it was to-night, and phoned too late. Was'nt that too bad?

Jimmy Holmes from Ala. died last wk. Your grandmother, Robert and boys motored up Sun. to call on your father and told him the news. I guess he was sore because he tho't they should have sent him word. They were always quite friendly.

You will laugh when I tell you, another reader is after the "Tarzan" books. He reads one a day, and gets all excited. I think I ought to give you all the money I get on those books.

Vaudeville is closing this wk. at Binghamton so a few more musicians will join the idle ranks. 14000 out of 20000 formerly employed are out of work. They head the list of the unemployed.

My throat is all well, but the tooth is still wiggling. Not sore. It must be taken care of.

By the way, you rec'd five rights from your ITT. Stock. It takes eight to buy a share, so I sold the the five, and when I get the cash will deposit it to your account. Okey? [sic]

Was'nt that nice of Alicia [?] to send you a gift? I did'nt know anything about it. She does things that way.

Too bad the girls are so undecided about Prom. Your pumps sound interesting. Are you doing any more shopping?

Flip Warner is opening an office in (on) the left wing of 78 Front. You know where the Side porch is. They are papering and doing the rooms all over for her.

Would love to spend Easter with you, but think I shall wait until later. Please do not send me anything but a wee bit of verse. I could'nt enjoy flowers dearie, when I would rather see my way clear. But I would love just a nice little verse from my darling.

Sunday is Mama's Golden Wedding day. She has mentioned it several times. I am going to try and find an appropriate card, and send it "special".

Well, dearie, do not be afraid to ask me for anything you need, will you? Must close as it is getting near quittin (closing) time.

It is six o'clock, and the last weary straggler has been in. Now for the Y.W. and home.

Oodles of love, billions of kisses from your darlingest
Muddikins.

"Sychology of Nines". Strange.
