5 P.M.Jeannette darling:-
Rec'd your two cards this morning and thank you for them.
Am writing hastily as Eleanor has invited me for dinner at 5.30, and want to get your money to you. Don't send so much home dear, and make yourself short. Your [sic] too liberal!
So glad you could go to Martha's wedding! It must have been exciting. Well I guess you have been on the go most of the time, and I am so glad.
I found a man who will fix the day bed. He came for it to-day, and the kitchen looks so funny without it. When you write, name over the things you think we should sell.
Wanted to get your case off to-day, but sewed some rips in your P.J's, and did a lot of phoneing [sic] for you. Will write again in the morning and give you all the news. Phone no's etc. Also send case, finish packing tonight. I am nearer Hempstead to-day than at any time. Will write more about that later. Phoned four trucking men, so you see I am a little more constructive to-day and not so elusive.
Put your pin in a box, in cotton, and you will find that with the Stationary. [sic]
It has poured all day, and the river is rising (or is it raising; yes) Don't worry, I'll flee to Hempstead if it gets too high.
When I awakened this morning, I found a big spot on ceiling in bathroom, where it's leaking, and now it's a mess, but I don't care. Have a pail under the spot. It's much worse than the kitchen was. Down the sides and all.
Was to have been hostess at a card party for Zonta to-night, but phoned B. Warner I could'nt make it. Too much going and I have so much to do.
Oodles of love darling, and billions of kisses.
I love you too much
Muddikins.
