Sun. 1.30 P.M.Dearest darling:-
Rec'd your card telling me about your new work and I am so thrilled about that. Your letters will surely be interesting to keep for future reference.
Came down with Bill, Friday and the rent is'nt ready. Says she'll have it Mon. Am going down this afternoon as I would like to go back with Bill to-night.
Your M.H. Quarterly came, and a nice portion of your letter is printed. Would like to show it to Mr. Hawkins, or McGarrity.
O! you "biz" my beautiful child, and what would I ever do without you. I love you so much dearie, and the more I see of other people, the more wonderful you are. Yesterday was pay day at Wheeler's, and in the afternoon went down St. Of course I saw Mrs. Vincent first and called on Mrs. Williams with W.W. She had "Journeys thru Bookland" and said I could see the Dr. She would'nt attempt to buy any books again. Will try and see him to-morrow.
Lydia, Jane, Art, Ez. & I went to Patsy's and had a "T.C." Then Ez took us all to "Green Lantern" for dinner. Was'nt that nice?
Alice Slocum came up to me while I was there eating, and was so glad to see me. She lives in "The Dalls [sic] Oregon". Do you remember her? Her son Robert Camp is at West Point, first year. Is'nt that splendid? Says she will come to see us in New York. I always tho't so much of her.
After dinner, we went to Decker's and had one treat, then home. I was in bed at 10.30 (AM.) P.M.
We are having a beautiful snow storm, and I am all thrilled. The
skiddies have had their sleds out. It does'nt stay on ground very good, altho' the roofs are white.Jane is rehearsing this afternoon and I am staying home. Will read papers. Art & Lydia are coming up later.
Jane says she will write you when the show is all over, and folded up. I went to the rehearsal Fri. night. Jane and Margaret Crandall have the best parts, or do the best.
So Sorry about those blots, but I just could'nt help it, dearie.
Elsa Vail was married this wk, and am sending the clipping along. [no longer with the letter] We just finished our dinner and while I'm waiting for dish water to heat will finish your letter.
News is scarce here. Everything is quiet, and after I do the dishes am going to read the Sun. papers.
Will be anxious to get home and busy myself with getting at things.
Mrs. Vincent burns me up with that rent business. I just have to hang around two or three days every time. It was very cozy in there yesterday, and I don't blame Jane for wanting to live there.
Well, dearie, I must close and will write you perhaps not until I get home Tues. morn.
Oodles of love and Millions of kisses from your darling
Muddikins.P.S. All send love. Still snowing hard. Jane's show is Mon. night. Wants me to stay.
