Binghamton, New York "Fritz & Florence's"
Nov. 26/35
4.30 P.M.Dearest darling Jeannette:-
Have been here since Sunday afternoon. As you may guess Fritz is getting on his feet again. Did'nt write you for I knew you would worry about me, but now that he is recuperating and sitting here with a "D. H. Lawrence" beard on, can tell you that the worst is over.
Marjorie was here every day with him, as Florence was so alone. They sat up all hours with him.
When I came he was all thru, had had the Dr. and just had the nervous part to go thru with. They wanted me to stay and I did so Florence could rest a little.
Don't worry dearie, I am alright, and will try to get down to business soon. Marj. wants me to come there for Thanksgiving with Fritz and Flo. Jane wants me in Owego but I will be taken care of beautifully.
Florence wanted me to thank you for her card, and that goes for Fritz too.
Is'nt my life hectic? I don't wonder that I just lose my pep. I am very glad Florence came home. She had been in Reading. She has been very kind and done everything for Fritz.
He is the one that wants me to stay. Wants company and some one around, I guess. Saw "Peter Ibbetson" Sun, and while it was a lovely picture, was'nt so keen about Gary and Anne Harding. I don't care for their acting. Its [sic] a sad picture, but I could'nt cry for any one but Dickie Moore, who played "Peter" as a child.
This letter is'nt interesting, but I wanted you to know that I was alright. Will write you more intelligently later.
Marj. is coming over to-night, and they want me to stay, so perhaps I will, but to-morrow I will be home. Am going over to get your mail soon & put this in the P.O.
Am sending Jane a birthday card and will enclose a dollar.
I think you should give me a good scolding. I am so worthless. Well, dearie you can make me walk the chalk line any time you say. Just cut off my allowance. That will bring me to times, poor darling.
Am writing Jane a line, and will try to do much better next time. Fritz & Flo. send love, and I send you all my love and billions of kisses.
from you[r] ever loving
"Wanderfogel",
"Muddy".P.S. Can hardly wait to get home to read your letters. Wish my things were packed. I shall have Gretchen help next wk. I love you so much.
