A Letter written on Dec 1, 1935

Dec. 1. 1935
Sunday 2.30 P.M.

Dearest darling Jeannette:-

You poor neglected child! It is a shame that I have'nt written you, but I guess I took advantage of your being away, and then I too was going about.

Stayed at Fritz's until Thanksgiving morning and we took a cab to Marg's where we had a lovely dinner, and played cards until we left for home.

Fritz went to work at Arlington Thanksgiving we are played until 3 A.M. We did'nt get to bed until 5. He kept us up entertaining us with his reception at Hotel. He is O.K. now and back working each day. He bo't Florence a new gold wrist watch for a peace offering. (She has a nice one that she had in Hollywood so long.) He did'nt spend all his money this time. Marg. certainly did a lot for them. I really think she is very fond of Florence. Helped her clean Fri. They went to Show yesterday and are over for dinner to-day. Florence called me and I am going over after I take a tub. etc.

Helen phoned and expected some of Louis' people over for turkey dinner but they disappointed her. She wanted me to come, and I would like to have, but had accepted Flo's invitation.

Helen took me to Owego Fri. but we were there about 1/2 hr. Came right back. Jane & Ez. had turkey dinner at "Green Lantern" Thanksgiving went to "She married her boss" and to Elks dance in evening. Jane wore her new green satin dress. Got home at 3 A.M. Had a grand time. Was'nt that nice?

Thank you so much for my little gift. Mrs. White bro't it up Fri. morn. She took it out of the ball.

Louis & Helen bro't me over Wed. night to see if I had any mail and I did'nt have my keys. Had dropped them on floor at Helen's. I did'nt ask them to come back. Disgusting!

Wanted to send you a telegram, but did'nt have Martha's address with me. Can you forgive me Tho's of you so many times.

Your letter was so sweet telling me all you had to be thank-ful for. How about me?

Yes, you can ask your father to call me about box. Let him make it.

Went in to see Schweiske, and he says every jeweler will tell you that your watch needs cleaning, but you could send it in. He suggested wearing it on top of your hand.

Gave Jane a dollar for her birthday and sent Will a card. First tho't I would spend Will's birthday with him, but my clothes were not just right so gave up the idea.

Will have to go to Owego to collect rent and there shall have Gretchen help me. These interruptions are terrible!

Saw Mr. Warner and told him I was moving. Also called the mattress factory up and am going to have that refilled before I leave. They get it in A.M. and bring it back at night. Charge $4.75. Is'nt that a good idea.

You must have had a grand time with the Jane's family. It was so nice of them to ask you to be their guest. Thank's [sic] so much for card. Well we will do lots of things some-day, won't we dearie?

Had to go to Bank yesterday, and then went to Press Bldg to see Mary Chalen. All my old customers came in. Georgia, Anna Bell, Alma Jenkins, Miss Isaacson. It was like old home wk. Then I saw Nina, Essie and Betty. Had dinner at Sisson's and Cecile was there. Went shopping to-gether and home.

This apt. does'nt seem so attractive any more, and I will be glad when I'm moved out. I hate to think of expenses going on in two places. It seems a waste of money.

Well, dearie darling sweetheart, do you still love your (Lazy Bones)? How can you?

Am going to hop into the tub and then go over to Fritz's. Helen wants me to stop sometime to-day and help her eat some turkey. Said she would give me some. Won't that be something?

Will write you again to-morrow and tell you all the news. Will go to Owego Tues. and come right back.

Thank you again a million times for all your candy, sweet tho'ts, cards, letters, and most of all for your dear devotion.

Millions of hugs and kisses
Muddikins.
