A Letter written on Jan 6, 1936

"Jane's"
Mon. 3 P.M.
Jan. 6/36

Sweetheart darling:-

A line, dear, to let you know I am feeling more rested and quite myself again.

Was going home or to Bing. this P.J. but "Jane", well she says I will have to stay that I have nothing to take me home.

Washed 2 gowns! yellow dress, panties, two towels, hankies, duster 3 prs. hose, all the 'left over's', oh! and a house apron. [An ink erasure is circled, and inscribed "Jane's fault"] You should have seen the water - black - ???? It seems so strange not to have a home to go to. I shall probably be more anxious to get settled in our new home. You know how we always opened that front door and on our way upstairs would remark, "O! I'm so glad to get back home". Never mind we'll soon be to-gether and then we will be so happy.

Jane is already making her plans on visiting us in August and spending Xmas. with us.

We are having a nice snow storm. Wish you were here. Maybe we could ride down hill.

How are you feeling, dearie? Please take the best care of yourself and build up your resistance.

Billy and Marge still have colds and cough very hard. Billy looks so pale and thin and is'nt so healthy looking. His ribs all show and it seems so strange.

Jane told me she would write you soon.

Jan 7/36

Just rec'd your N.Y. letter and am glad you had such a wonderful time. Too bad you could'nt dance! I do hope you did'nt get too tired. Why did'nt you take your evening dress with you?

I shall be very anxious to hear how you made out with your conference. Then too, to hear all about Major Bowes. Intended writing Will to-day, but may before it is over. We get up about 10 A.M. and by the time we eat it's noon.

Think I shall go to Marge's to-day and you can send my next letters there. Am getting tired of tramping already. Perhaps you had better send mail here and Jane can forward to where ever I am. Will try to write you a very nice letter when I can concentrate.

Am so glad you are having such a good time. Take excellent care of your health. I love you so much. Will write later[.]

All send love & kisses. Mine are all for you.

Muddy.
