A Letter written on Jan 9, 1936

"Janes"
Thurs. Jan. 9./36

My dearest Bee-bee:-

Thank you so much for your note and your very generous check. Will take care of it and use it to the very best of my ability.

You see I am still here at Jane's. Sit around mostly. Was so tired when I came, that I just relaxed.

Want to have my teeth done very soon, but shall wait until my ribs are a little better. Took straps off after New Year's because they loosened (that is'nt right) up, but I guess I will have to have the old ribs strapped again. Is'nt it disgusting!

Arthur had his strapped two or three times.

Dr. Jenkins did'nt tell me to come again, but I suppose he tho't my common sense would tell me if I needed more bandage.

My cough is better, and that will soon wear itself out.

There is lots of difference in the heat there and 78. It is just too bad to expect that. Jane is very kind to me and wants me to stay, and its [sic] hard to leave her.

Intended going to Zonta, Tues. night, but I guess it's just as well that I did'nt.

Don't worry about me dearie, as I am taking excellent care of myself. It just takes time when you take such a spill, and then move on top of all that. I really feel very good, and am very grateful to think I am getting through this ordeal so well.

We are having more snow. It rained some this morning. Think I shall stay in to-day. Am I a L.B.? Did you ever dream that it would be this way and that you would be the big chief? Well, darling dearie, I shall help all I can when I come to N.Y. Will you find me a job? I am going to swap out of this lethargy and be "Tillie the Toiler" again.

"Janey" is peeling an apple for me. Will you have phone?

I am so glad you had such a nice week-end. Am anxious to hear all about it.

Please rest, relax, eat, sleep, get fat, have fun, and don't worry. All my kisses and love for my darling sweetheart.

Your sweet Muddikins
