LibrarianMy dearest darling Jeannette:-
The days are flying by and I am not being nice to my little sweetheart. I guess you will have to come home and spank me - I biz so naughty.
Sunday went by and I just did'nt do anything but rest and read. Nina called me up and wanted me to go to church with her (Broad Ave.) to see pictures of Abe Lincoln, so she came for me and we went, going to her home later for coffee, sand. & cake. Had a very nice time.
Your father is working again in a restaurant on the North Side, and that makes it fine for Anthony, who is still with us. One sleeps days and the other nights.
An went home Sat. night and came back yesterday morning. He is a very nice person to have around, so agreeable. Last night we both went to bed early. He laid down with his clothes on and fell asleep. I did the same thing later, while the music was playing (radio)
Buddy was in yesterday morning asking for you. He still goes with the same girl. His Uncle died Sunday. (Paul's father) Had an operation about a wk. ago, and did'nt come thru. He had a severe stomach ailment.
Bill Chittendon's father committed suicide in N.Y. Sun. night. Was in a Hos. for nervous trouble caused from a stomach condition. He went for a walk, registered at a Hotel, bo't a rifle and did the deed. He was a splendid man. His wife died a year ago, and he brooded so over her death.
I just loved your new stationary [sic], and it was such a surprise. Thank you for writing to us on the new paper, first. Your dad enjoyed it too. He was reading the letter this morning when he came home. Will you use that stationary for the rest of your college days? It's lovely. I mean on state occasions, or when you write Phil? His letter was fine. Thanks for sending it on; He seemed in his first paragraph, to, apologize, or did'nt I interpret it correctly?
Was so interested to hear all about your fun at Springfield College. It was so nice that all you girls could be to-gether at McCleary's.
When I think of Exposition, Journalism concentrates, etc., it makes my head ache. Just now I would'nt be any good studying. My head is still weak (it always was) and I get confused easily.
Can't advise you dearie about your course in Ed. You do as you think best. Perhaps you would'nt teach in N.Y. State. Ha! Ha! I know how you feel about teaching. Mr. Hilgers was in the other day and ordered $12.50 worth of books. Was'nt that nice? Saturday I sent out 64 books! My best day. Am advertising every night in the paper now, the name of a different book. In the personels. [sic]
Mr Kallgren is going to speak at the Zonta Club this noon but I don't believe I can go. It's very hard to leave here at noon. That is my busy time.
Customers come and go! Does'nt this letter sound that way?
Well, dearie, I think I will close before I have Another interruption. Five more wks. and you will be home. Wonderful? What say you? Lets not have any flu and things like that.
Oodles of love and Millions of kisses from your darling
Muddikins.
Here comes the Mousekins and family. Many things have happened since you heard from your ittle [sic] mouskins. Do you hear all the queeks?
