A Letter written on Feb 26, 1936

Jane's. Wed. 2.30 P.M.
Feb. 26/36

Dearest darling Jeannette:-

Arrived at Jane's last night at 6.30 on bus, and found two very interesting letters awaiting me. I was so anxious to hear from you and enjoyed every word. Thank you so much for your very generous check. You sent too much. Please don't make yourself so short again. Am not sending any money as you will have your salary before this letter reaches you. I'm terribly sorry. Now please keep enough and more for yourself. Perhaps I should have wired you some money.

Did lots of business in Bing. and accomplished a lot. Will tell it all perhaps in next letter. I am hurrying to get this written before the Postman arrives. Marj and An. are fine and were very nice. Saw your darling card you sent Marj. She was pleased.

They went to "78 Conklin Ave." for dinner Sun. and I saw "Petrified Forest." Loved it. Went in at 2.30 & stayed until 6. Had a date with Cecile or would have waited until picture was finished again. The acting is marvelous. The man (killer) in picture had that same role in play. It has a sand ending "a. la. Tillie" and most people did'nt care for it.

Monday I went down St. with An in morning, and did my business, had a milk shake and saw "A night at the Opera". I care so little for that type of picture. Marx Bros. are like a circus once is plenty. On the same bill was "Ship Cafe" with "Carl Brisson", and that was even worse.

Went back to Marge's at 4 P.M. and in the evening, after ironing (Marge) played cards.

Tues. A.M. down with An. and to Bank again. Saw "Ruth Chatterton" in "Lady of Secrets" with Otto Kruger, Marian Marsh, Lionel Atwill. Did'nt care so much for that.

Saw Beulah, Jennie Carroll, May Ryan, also went up to a Knitting Shop (a new one in Press Bldg opened up by girl who was with Knitting nook) to find out how to wash my suit. Went up to "Charis" Company to see if I could use mama's 2.00 deposit on corset for myself. They have to look that up.

Don't you think I did a lot of business?

Jane was going to rehearsal last night but found out that it was postponed. Edna F. was here and wanted me to come over to play cards, so went over for a short time.

Anthony's side bothers him. He thinks its [sic] his appendix. When I got home Sun. night, he asked me to have a bottle of beer and we visited until after midnight. (Some advertiser gave him a case of ale)

May write again before the day is over, because I have'nt answered your darling letters.

Am quite distressed about that money. Please don't make yourself so short again, will you dearie?

I love you so much, sweetheart, and hope you are taking good care of yourself.

All my love and billions of kisses for you

from your darling
"Muddikins"

Jane sends love and x's
