A Letter written on Mar 5, 1936

Jane's
Thurs. Mar. 5/36

Dearest darling sweetheart :-

Returned last night from Binghamton on bus, and Ez. intercepted mail forwarded to me in Bing. by calling P.O. Rec'd your good long letter in Bing. which Jane sent me. Had your other letter this morning. Thank you so much dearie for everything. You always give me the courage to "carry on".

Went to Dr. Andrews and he advised me to wait a little longer if I possibly had the time to spare. As long as I have been so patient decided to do as he said. Some process is working out of my gums, and am afraid a plate would hurt like the dickens. Am trying to be sweet about it all, but I do want to come soon. Of course this estate business is holding things up some.

Am sending you some papers to sign [no longer with the letter] and it must be done before a notary (Any bank has one) and then returned to me. There will be a charge of about .25 cents I guess. You have been so very sweet, dearie, about doing all this for me and I can never never repay you. It is grand to have such a darling child, one who never has disappointed you in a single thing. It is so much more appreciated, especially when you have been hurt so by those you've loved. Many, many thanks, dearie and may God bless you every minute of the day. You have so many good things coming to you.

Sat. night Lydia, Jane, & I went to see Myrna Loy in "Whipsaw" and Sun. night Jane took me to "King of Burlesque," which was very good. Warner Baxter and Alice Faye (don't care for her) but they had a cute girl in cast(e) Dixie Dunbar. (tap dancer) She was just a bit different and so refreshing. Jack Oakie was very good.

Went to Bing. Mon. at 1.30 with Edna and to Bank to pay Int. on note[.] Then went to see "Mae West" in "Klondyke [sic] Annie". I liked it. Victor MacLaglen [sic] was in picture.

Up to Marg's for supper and when I came out of Theatre it was snowing real hard. We played cards later in evening. An's side is better. Dr told him it was'nt appendicitis, but a strain, and must be careful or he would have a hernia. He paints it with iodine.

Tues. went to Dr Andrews, and then to see Betty, Mary Phelan. Phoned Helen and went over there after lunch. Was going to Zonta Club but losers were dressed in summer clothes, and not having my teeth decided not to go, altho they all expected me.

While in Bing. Sat. tried on some dresses, but they were terrible. Only one looked well and that was $19.75. Plain blue crepe, waist all fagoted, very conservative, but tho't I'd look around some more. Got home at 6.20 and Helen phoned that Klischa wanted me to play that night. I just could'nt make it. Was'nt it too bad that I did'nt call Helen while in Bing. I was so disgusted.

Tues eve. & P.M. I spent with Helen. We played cards and they took me to "community" for dinner. Louis took me to Anthony's about 2.15 A.M. Are'nt I awful?

Yesterday I stayed at Marg's until after lunch. Then went down st. and did some errands, and saw "Louis Pasteur" with Paul Muni. It was splendid, but very scientifical.

Well, dearie, I am going to see a picture to-day. "Splendor" with Miriam Hopkins.

Will ans. your letters to-night or in the morning.

Thank you so much, dearie, for all you have done for me and be a good girl.

Oodles of love and billions of kisses for my sweetie-pie, from

Your darling
"Muddikins"

Jane & Ez. send love.
