A Letter written on Mar 16, 1936

Mon. 3.50 P.M.
Mar. 16/1936

My dearest darling Sweetheart :-

Did you think that I had forgotten 'my little peegee[']? How could I??? I wanted to write you yesterday but did'nt feel very good, and just put it off.

Went to Owego with Bill Bailey Fri. to help Jane hang her dress, and did that Sat. morn. We went down St. Sat. night after my nap. I was just all in. Sun. I got up about 12.30 and did'nt get dressed until 5 P.M. Jane went to rehearsal and Mrs. Orcutt and Mrs Stiles called. Can you imagine? They stayed about 2 hrs 1/2. Well, that was that. Has I requested? Came up here with Bill last night.

What a time I am having with my teeth! Mouth full of cankers and I have to go to dentist every day. I just -

Some one just came and my tho't went astray. It just thundered too! O, dear! Why thunder storms?

My mouth was so sore last night that I left my teeth on the refrigerator Ha! Ha! and this morning I could hardly get them in my mouth. I was at the Dentist's at 9 A.M. He takes the pressure away from certain spots. If a person can wait a longer time, the mouth heals more and it is much better. I have tho't of your father many times this past week. Do you remember when he used to say, that I would know what it was like, some day?

Am playing with Jerry Drew three days in Owego, beginning Thurs. at Travis's store. Spring opening. I just accompany him. He plays Xylophone. I think they also use a singer. They do about five shows a day.

It was so interesting to hear about Anna Howell. You are certainly meeting a lot of your college friends.

You just bet we understand each other perfectly and I am so glad you are chasing all my troubles away. You are such a darling, and I am so glad I'm the only "Tillikins" in the whole world. I know I'm the only one for you, dearie. I must be "Gladys glad" Ha!

Jane is getting her "crockery" to-day, but she will have an easier time, I'm sure. You see I still go back to the same old subject. The Dr. did relieve me so much this morning and I'll live thru this alright. I just don't concentrate on much else.

Anthony has his new transmitter finished and has been working his [with] friends this P.M.

I came out in the kitchen to write, but Billy is out here too, and Marge has joined me and is writing you a line. If this letter is boring you will know the reason. I like to be all by myself when I write to my darling.

You must be growing weary waiting for me to come down to N.Y., but I just can't seem to get there. We will make up for all this lost time, won't we dearie? You know I am very very anxious to see you dearie, and get into our own little love nest. That's what it is, is'nt it dearie? 'Member when we used to go to bed to read, and say how glad we were to be home?

We have had some high water here, but nothing in comparison to last summer. It is just pouring now.

Saw the "Country Doctor" Fri. P.M. It was a good picture. The "Quins" [Dionne quintuplets] were only in it for about five or ten min. Jean Hersholt was excellent.

Would you like to see my smiling face? Do you think you would know me? One of these days, you will see just how beautiful I am.

Take good care of yourself and don't take cold. Oodles of love and kisses for my Hempstead Cor. from you darling

"Muddikins"

I love you.
