South Hadley, June 27, 1840.My dear Miss Brigham,
Your precious letter & sweet little present I received a long time a [sic] ago, & have been designing to write to you. But you know how it is with me, & with my time. I have just received yours of June 22. I thank you sincerely for your kind invitation. I have a very strong desire to desire to offer myself the high gratification of being present on that interesting occasion. I think I shall be all through I cannot now calculate certainly. If you hear nothing from me more, you may expect to see me on Wed. P.M. I may go to Boston on Monday or Tues. & come up in the cars on Wed. but probably I shall go directly from here on Wed.
We have a very interesting
communicationschool. I hope you will find it convenient to be here at our examination.Affectionately yours,
Mary Lyon
