A Letter Written on Nov 19, 1877

Mechanicsburg Nov 19. 1877

My Dear Daughter

Your letter came on Saturday. I thought I could just find that roll of silk saw it not long since but cannot now find but perhaps this will answer the outside is faded off but I send what is good of it. Mrs Smith formerly of Petersburg has been with me several days also Cousin M Clarke, daughter from Ohio with two children Fannie [...] on Saturday. Last week I had a visit from Cousin Mary Porter and daughter so you see I am having lots of company. I am sorry you are not well but it is better for you to come home and get cured up I shall be glad to have your company though I am getting along very nicely and am too busy to feel lonely with least[.]

This evening Mr Reigart is to give us the teachers a model lesson and I must prepare some for it he is very [...]stined up Mr Wiley is to be here to assist at communion in two weeks wish you were here. I have had letters from all around except Johnie and all are well Horrie is having quite an experience his books were all stolen at Wilkensburg his school is small but he hopes it will increase they are [...] to bring him out and I trust they will succeed he is in the choir. Our ladies had a supper on last Thursday evening it is quite a success. They are in fine spirits H Boocher is going to the city to spend awhil[e] at her Aunts. Mr Zinn and Fanny have dissolved partnership. Now I must go to the Office and get some bread for dinner. Am not half through glad you heard Miss Quinley. Write soon. I may find the silk.
