April 28, 1881Dear Sister:-
I am too tired to write you much tonight but I must send you a short letter to tell you what a delightful time I have had today. You can no doubt guess where I have been. - at the missionary meeting in Wheeling. Mrs Reid [Lillie's employer] gave Miss Buxton and me the day and she took the girls down on a boat for a boat ride more than for the meeting[.] We started early this morning and had the full day at the meeting[.] I met so many lovely ladies that I was almost bewildered. I had only been in a few moments when Mrs Cunningham spied me: she came down and spoke to me and insisted on my going up on the platform. I met Miss Kassan, Mrs Holcomb, Mrs Schenk, Mr Perkins Mrs Humphrey Mrs Massey and a host of others whose names I cannot remember. But what was more enjoyable to me than all this was that I met Miss Annie Johnson of Cleveland and heard her sing several times. She is such a sweet little thing and Mr Price and wife were here also. She is a cousin of Mr H. Mr. Price was attending Presbytery, and we had him several days. I liked him very much.
I have not forgotten that I wrote you a long letter the other week but I had neglected you so long that I must make up. With ever so much love I am
Sister Lillie.
