Dear Mother -
I hope you had a nice time over Mothers Day and a good trip back to Delwar. Frances said you were going to look at bridesmaids' dresses among other things - hope you found something. As you no doubt are finding out I have already sent the trunk. I am enclosing the key [no longer with the letter] in case you want to start settling woolens away. As I remember I didn't put any dirty clothes in the trunk.
Life up here has been monotonous to say the least. For a whole week I have had absolutely nothing to do. I have my first exam tomorrow and my other on Wednesday. And then nothing to do again. I am ushering at the President's Reception and at Commencement - that's why I need the white dress. Commencement is Monday morning May 21st and so I imagine it would be best for you to get over here in the morning to pick us up. However you can use your judgement as to that - just let me know.
I have seen Mr. Cramer about my honor work and all I have to do this summer is read 2 books which isn't going to kill anybody. I also understand Frances wrote home an erroneous report on my health which Frances, you & Daddy managed to decide what I should not do. You should know better. I am just as healthy as ever and look no worse than I have all semester - as a matter of fact better. But if you must discuss my health it would seem logical to consult me instead of Frances concerning it all. After all it is my life not hers and what may seem inexplicable to her in all probability is quite simple. Anyway I trust you get the point. I realize you're only thinking of my well-being but I'm a big girl now and can probably act as such if I make the supreme effort. Anyhow - don't get so excited. I'm healthy as the proverbial horse.
Pat has invited me to visit her as has Mim. I thought that if it's all right with you I would go down to Mt. Lakes soon after I get home - about the 24th to see Pat and then go on to Penna. to visit Mim. That way it saves carfare. However it it's not convenient I suppose I could go see them some other time. I'd kind of like to know soon, however, so I could make some fairly definite plans with Mim before we leave school.
Frances is fine and has only one more exam. I guess some of hers were pretty hard but she thinks she did O.K.
Hope you liked the books. I saw them in the Bookshop Inn and immediately shades of Mrs. P. J. McCormick clad in the scanty attire of one of Jolanthe's nymphs appeared in my mind. I gave that address O. Parker sent to Miss Newhall as directed.
Love to you Daddy & Nanna & hoping to see you soon.
