Dear Miss Turner;
I am planning to leave here so as to reach Holyoke not later than 2.53 on Saturday. This will, I assume, make it possible for me to take the 3.00 p.m. trolley for So. Hadley; and it leaves a margin for delays. I believe that the exact wording of my topic was left in your hands. Unless [I] hear otherwise form [sic] you I shall expect to talk along the lines of Old and New Viewpoints (or Ideas) on Nutrition.
Miss Jean Bogert has written to me for an appointment to discuss some questions which she has in mind regarding her own work. I am requesting her to consult you and ask you to make an appointment for me which I can keep without disturbing any plans. Whatever you arrange for me in respect to time for Miss Bogert's consultation - i.e. before or after my talk - will be satisfactory to me.
If I can be of any assistance in the way of other consultations or discussions I shall be glad to coöperate.
With greetings
Layfayette B. Mendel.
