Danvers May 30 1866Dear Cousin Clara
It is Election day and we have no school so I thought I would write you[.] I went up in the gammer [sic] school this year and I like my teacher Miss Hood[.] Adeline Swinerton came to Danvers to spend Election she is at Albert Mudge[.] the carpenters are comming [sic] to work on Edward house tomorror [sic] mornnig [sic] he has got a little daughter to occupy it[.] Mamie brought me a letter from the post office yesterday from my Cousin's in Vermont[.]
We have been to take a ride down to the Port[.] Melie went with us[.] she is going to spend Election at Mr procter[.] Mamie has been in this afternoon to see Almyra['s] baby[.] it has got blue eyes[.] as you here [sic] from Danvrs so often I can not tell you any news[.] Mother sends her Love[.] goodby
