A Letter Written on Oct 25, 1940

Dearest Daughter;-

I have just deposited Mama at the church, where she is going to take tickets etc. for the Choir Entertainment - "Music and Movies." I hope there will be tickets for her to take - but I am afraid that the crowd will not be very large.

We went to N.H. today - chèz [sic] Devereaux.

Have you heard any of Willkie's recent speeches. He certainly is showing up "Mr. Third-Term-Candidate" in splendid fashion. If reason and good sense can sway an election in the U.S. - he'll win. Personally I think that we have the New Deal on the run. Also I think that Hitler is in a tight spot.

We have been thinking of you and your blue books etc. Wish I could see you just this minute. Now I must run back to the church.

My beautiful Princess,
Lotions [?] of love -
Pop.
