Dec. 5, 1938.

Dear little girl:-

Just a few lines - to let you know we are O.K. Papa is to lecture at the Stamp Club to-night and will psot this in Waterbury. Had a busy day yesterday. There was some mistake about the oil and the church had no heat in the morning. Papa had a 15 minute service - and dismissed the congregation. The oil was delivered about 11-30-A.M. so we had the church lovely and warm for the Evening Service. (Installation of Epworth League Officers.)

To-day was the day for the big Operetta. I didn't go - for it was pouring rain and a thick fog. Too bad - such bad weather. I imagine the attendance was light, and they had so many heavy expenses. It was held in St. Michael's Parish House - which seats 500.

Sent 2 bxes [sic] of Modess. Thought you would have enough then for most of the year. There are no more at home. So if you need any at home you will have to pack a few. I got a nice card for my Birthday - from "May pole". She included you and Papa - in the good wishes. Would you send her a card? I know she would be delighted. Her address is #194 - Orange Ave., West Haven, Conn.

I will close now, so that I will be in time for Papa. Hope to get your stockings on Wednesday. If the weather is permissible - will go to the Dentist's. Won't be long now, before the 16th.

Lots of love from the quartette.
Mamma.
