Rev. Dr. William M. Nesbit
15 Frederick Street
Naugatuck, Connecticut

Dear little Girl:-

Received welcome letter and clippings. We had a good laugh over them - and the joke in your letter. We are dismantling the Xmas Tree. I have written to Lane Bryant - for all those nice things and while I was doing that - Papa wrapped the ornaments. I don't think I ever enjoyed a tree as much as this one. It is very cold here. 10° - at 7 A.M. Papa is going to the Stamp Club. to-night. If it was not so cold - I would go to the movies - but wouldn't dare with my foot. Last night, it didn't weep at all - and to-day just a tiny bit. Going to Dr Reade's - the last of the week to have him take the skin off. My toe looks like a "chameleon" - at shedding time. The new skin is very sensitive to cold. Feels as if I did not have any shoe on. An infection - is no joke - no matter where it is located.

I am so glad you had a nice time with Miss Barrows - Papa likes Mr. Barrows so much. Would you like to join the Junior Womans Club? I think it would be pleasant. Jane Wyatt from our church is a member - also Kathryn Kuby - and the older Rodenbach girl (Rachel) I think she is older than Barbara. They have a holiday dance at Xmas - for the members at college - and you would meet all the Naugatuck girls and boys. If you would like it, I will see about having your name proposed.

Dr. Gessner died suddenly. He was 73 yrs. old. He was at the last Stamp Meeting when Papa gave the talk and he told Papa it was the best talk on stamps that he had ever heard. Dr. Lewis wrote a fine tribute to him. The night is getting cold - and I am going to move into the Radio Room. So glad that you took English with Dr. Sheridan. Will close now - with lotions of love.

"Mummy".
