Just a line - Have been sending out 175 statements - for the finance com. has taken me all day. Hang up the flag!!! my foot has been dry all day - the first time - since the infection - am so delighted - all smelling gone - but the foot is some tender - and is full of rheumatic pains. - worse than a child. Papa goes to special Official Board Meeting - to-night - to talk over the 115 Anniversary - of the Church - They will make a financial drive in honor of the occasion. To-morrow night - I hope to go to choir Rehearsal for the first - I hope it does not snow and then on Friday - I hope to go to the Calendar Party. Of course it depends on the weather I guess you have been up to your eyes finishing your English.
Yesterday I spent the day - fixing things that I have had to leave. Papa spent the day calling. We heard Jane Weyman - on Sunday with Tyrone Power - and she was fine (in a little play). Yesterday we heard from Jimmy Fiddler that she had gone skating on Monday and had fallen and broken her knee. He said it was a most unusual accident - and she will be helpless for weeks - Isn't that hard luck - also Cecil de Mille - is to undergo major operation - and is hurrying to get through his work - he will be in bed 3 weeks - When I hear all these things - my foot seemed just a little thing Mrs. Neary is wearing her low white Summer shoes - so her leg isn't right yet. I think she went to have it bandaged to-day. Their little puppy ("freckles["] - is his name) is too cunning for words. I would like to borrow him.
He is tan with floppy ears - I don't know what breed. The cats are very interested in him and sit up on the railing of the proch - to watch him. Will close now - and get supper. Broccoli - thin spaghetti - roast fresh ham (not stuffed) and baked sauer kraut. I was so pleased with the recipes - in the Good H. magazine that you bought - baked Sauer kraut was one of them.
Time to get supper -
