Dear Little Girl:-

Papa arrived home safe and sound at 8 P.M. last night. I was glad that you made Mt. Holyoke O.K. and that Papa made Naugatuck. Some weather!! It has been snowing here all day. Not heavily, but the snow is fine and it is surprising how it has gathered.

The following is dictated by the Director of the transportation department. "The 5.52 from Holyoke runs daily - but the 7.10 from Hartford to Waterbury (which I used a week ago) is a Saturday only train. There is no connecting train on other days of the week. The Bus Lines are too uncertain at night for you to use them until we know them better. I have an Official Board Meeting tomorrow night at 7.30; so I cannot drive to Hartford or Meriden or New Haven to meet the 5.52 at any of those stations so Mamma and I agree that it would be best for you to come down on Thursday morning.

The best train to take on Thursday is apparently the 9.53 A.M from Holyoke, which is due at Hartford 10.50 due at New Have 11:40 and Meriden 11.15 (ask the conductor whether you have to change at Springfield)[.] If the driving is good - I can meet you at Meriden or New Haven. If it is not so good, it would be best for you to take the Hartford-Waterbury Bus at Hartford - which leaves Hartford at 11-25.

All this seems very complicated - so I shall telephone you on Thursday morning about 8.45 - giving definite and final instructions. By that time, we shall know what the weather is" -

Papa is waiting - must get this in mail

Lotions of love
Mummy.

Good luck in your test
