Dear Little Girl:-

Just a line before Pop goes to Stamp Club. Everything is going O.K. Rained hard last night - but the Quarterly Conference was a great success and although it was not necessary, they gave Papa a unanimous recall - and Mr. Long said he hoped it would be for ten years. Wasn't that lovely? Dr. Worley was very much pleased.

I still have the light attack of grippe - less than a degree of temperature but so prostrating. Throat and nose have cleared up - but I still ache. It was in epidemic form in Chicago and all through the State - one hundred thousand school children down with it - but not seriously sick. Mr. Noyes - has it - Mrs. Budsall, Mrs. Weyh - Mr. Wyatt is just over it. Sometimes it lasts 2 days sometimes a week. Pop is fortefying [sic] himself with quinine. Martha Deane - was off the air with it - the man who took her place - just recovered from it - said he lay on the couch - with his two spaniels - and then the temperature stayed 100° wouldn't go up or down - and he had the thermometer with him to-day. Martha Deane's Secretary's throat was so bad - she couldn't read the letters. Lowell Thomas - has been in bed a week - Gabriel Heater has been in bed a week and John Gambling is out with it now. We mortals are certainly defenseless - against these infections. Norma Shearer - is out of danger - strepto-cocchus throat temp 105° for 2 days - but at last the medicine worked. She has been lowering her resistance by over-work.

Washed your hankies and will send them along presently. I am taking very good care of myself. To-night, I will just rest myself. I am feeling real good. Just had a large glass of grapefruit juice - and am going to have an "African tail" for supper.

Will close now - thought of you so much yesterday.

Love from us all
Mummie.
