Dear Mama & Papa,
Thanks for the special and the letter that I got today. I think the party idea is swell. Do you suppose there is another girl we could invite such as Katherine Pierson or do you think it would be all right to have an extra man? Of course, probably everyone won't be able to come. It certainly does sound like a lot of fun. I'd say go ahead & invite them R.S.V.P.
I had my Physics blue book today. I don't think it was so hard as the last one. I also had a Chem quiz, I have a French paper due for tomorrow. I don't think that I'll have anything more after that to worry over till after Christmas. It certainly will be a relief not to have to cram.
I am so glad the Fair was such a success. Only I'm sorry that I couldn't have been there & been guarded on the way home. That's almost like riding behind a motorcycle.
It has been snowing very hard today, I guess about five inches. The wind has been blowing a lot. About two o'clock this afternoon I could hardly walk in it. It was just like a blizzard. The walking has gotten quite slippery now. It certainly does seem a lot more like Christmas than before. This is our first real snow storm. It has stopped snowing now (7:10 P.M.). I got a cut at dinner tonight so I didn't have to wait. I thought it would be sort of a relaxzation [sic] to write home.
Sally got a cold on Saturday & was so sick last night that she went to the infirm. I packed her clothes for her. She was feeling awful with an upset stomach & bad head ache. Too bad it had to be this week, for she has two blue books. Everybody is awfully busy. someone said to me yesterday when I spoke about Sally, "Maybe if more people got sick they would cut down on the work." It just seems at this time that each teacher is trying to see how much his class can get done before Christmas. Just a week and two days more & the vacation arrives. Two weeks from to day comes the great day.
By the way did you do anything about the payment on my tuition? You know I have about $13 for it.
I thought you[r] drawing of the tea was awfully good. I was almost tempted to show it to Miss Laird. You'd better behave yourselves or I will.
I got a Dutch stamp from the girl who gave me the Chilean air-mails.
I am supposed to go to a celebration for Racine at 9 to night. I don't know whether I'll have time. I have the Fr. paper to do.
Try to get a lot of sleep & get rested up from the Fair. I'm quite proud of my mama - selling all those cards.
Love
Your 'worshiping child,
Bessie
