Dear Mama & Papa,
Greetings! Received your welcome letter. Yesterday I was quite sick for natural reasons so I took it easy, got a house excuse & a sat [?] for lunch. Today is Stelle's birthday & I got her a little bottle of perfume. Sally is out of the Infirm. She is still quite hoarse & they have sent her to a specialist in Holyoke to have her nose cleared up. I got B on my Religion quiz. I think I should have gotten a higher mark but such is life.
I'm so excited when I think that there are only two & a half more days of classes besides today. What do you think I should get Sally? Yesterday a
ChecCzechCzech (I had it right before) spoke in chapel about the war. He said that the little democracies were looking to the big democracies to save their very existence. It is getting quite cold here. One of the girls in Physics said Miss Laird said it 11° F. this morning. That's not exactly boiling. It's really not uncomfortable just invigorating. I enclose some pretty good jokes. [no longer with the letter]
Love,
BessieP.S.
We sang Xmas songs in chapel this morning. "O Come All Ye Faithful"
