Naugatuck, ConnecticutPop's greeting to his Favorite Sophomore;-
Mama's cold is much better - altho she still coughs hard. However it is wearing off. Otherwise we are all O.K.
Mama and I like your Hebrew poem immensely. The form is excellent. The exilic atmosphere is well conveyed. Of course the name Jonas is a Greek form - and would therefore be an anachronism - This however is but a spot on the Sun. Plenty of college professors would have made the same mistake.
We were much interested in your account of the war lectures.
By the way, a package started today by mail. You should get it promptly. We hope that the eats that are therein will give you strength for the Mid-years.
"And mighty by thy meats and drinks am I"
(What Poem by Whom?)I think that I shall ask you to outline a sermon for me some day - one on Jeremiah perhaps.
Wish we could peep in on you right now.
Good luck, sweet child! Lots of love -
Mama (asleep)
Papa (almost)Jan. 24, 1940.
