Dear Mama & Papa,
Greetings from your lonesome offspring. I got your wonderful surprise present this morning. It must have come yesterday after noon and I didn't look for a package because I couldn't imagine I could get any. At first I thought I had forgotten something else but gee when I opened it. Did you mean to send me the S'Aimant toilette water and the L'Origon talé? I won't open the toilette water until you tell me it is O.K. If not, I will send it back when I hear from you.
I surely did have a wonderful time at home. It was so much fun. Oh by the way, I got an awfully nice note from Dr. Sheridan thanking me for my Christmas card. I got back an English Lit blue book yesterday with C. I was kind of disappointed, but I can never tell how I will do in that class. Such is life.
Yesterday as my cold was a little worse from the long cold ride, I slept late. I had coffee and toast at the drug store, bought some Kleenex and Dreskin at the Drug store. I also spent twenty-five for a Cosmopolitan. I had only one class yesterday, gym. I handed in the blank to Miss Voorhees' office. I will get an appointment with her later on.
I spent yesterday afternoon reading the French novel. I went over to see Stelle. She is fine and had a nice vacation. I had Physics and Chem this morning and Physics Lab all this afternoon. I certainly am glad I'm quitting it. I spent a good bit of the time counting moving diffraction lines and have a bad head ache now. I listened to I[n]formation, please last night & enjoyed it a lot.
I must not forget to say how good the Singer bread tasted on the trip up[.] It just hit the right spot[.] The cookies are certainly good. They fill in those empty spaces. We had lamb chops, baked potatoes and hubbard squash for dinner last night. Today for lunch we had scalloped tomatoes, sausage cakes, Sally Lunds, and peaches and cookies. Tonight we ought to have a pretty good meal because it's Wed. night.
My shoes and stockings are fine. The shoes are wonderfully comfortable for new ones. Oh by the way, when you send my things would you also send me a laundry bag, I seem to have forgotten to bring mine back.
I wrote a long letter to Aunt Emma last night. I am going up to see Hommie's presents after supper & hope to get some more French done. I must close now & get ready for the eats.
Thanks again for the lovely surprise.
Love
your adoring child,

P.S. Could use some more stamps whenever you feel so moved.
