Dear Bessie,

Just a few lines before going for supper. I am sorry I couldn't make it Fri. night, Red Linners (fellow across the hall) & myself planned to come over, then Thur. when the hockey team got back from Saxtons River, Vt. at 10 o'clock there was a letter here from Mother & she hinted several times about coming home for the week end so about 10:45 mother called & asked me to come home because they were having trouble in ordering next years baby chicks. So it was a matter of no choice.

Red & myself was [sic] over there two weeks ago for the supposed carnival but I didn't see you there. Wasn't that ice terrible to skate on; I saw several fellow [sic] there from State. Please let me know when you are going to have the next carnival & Red & myself will be over.

Speaking of skating I am on the hockey team here & getting quit [sic] a kick out of it. Last week we were down in Conn. & also up in Brattleboro Vt. & Saxton Vt. playing so we are seeing a little of the country. We've only had 1 defeat & that was because of injuries, the injuries are increasing by leaps & bounds.

Our finals are from Jan. 22 until the 31st so we do not have any games now until next semester. I am not sorry I suppose you are having your finals now also, well my room-mate wants to go to supper so I'll Sign Off.

Howard.
