Dear Mama & Papa,

Just a few lines on business. I just looked up the letter from the Bd of Ed. & I was supposed to ahve notified them when the second semester began. This places the blame for this delay entirely on me. I am awfully sorry for being so dumb.

I have just sent the letter to them special delivery & asked them to send it to me as fast as possible. I hope this will be all right.

Here is some rather bad news. The last pay day for our blanket tax is this Sat. I will get my N.Y.A. sometime this week. I will have to use three dollars of the ten to pay loans I have made right away. That will leave 7 dollars. The tax is $12.75. Could you possible [sic] beg borrow or steal about 6 dollars. If I do not pay this, this week end, there will be a 10% increase. If you possibly can do this. Bring the money with you when you come up on Friday & I can leave the money with Sally who can pay the bills for me on Sat. I will write more later on.

Love,
Bessie
