Dear Mama & Papa,
Hello! Greetings from the great center of learning. The check arrived from the Bd. of Ed. yesterday. It was for $49.69. The interest for this July had already been deducted. I paid $45.- to Mr. Grout who was awfully nice. By the way I hear he is engaged to a sophomore. Then I paid Filene $3.50 & the cleaners $1.00. You can see I have been up to real high finance. It really seems today as if "the winter were past and the time of the singing of bird had come". The sun is shining so brightly, it makes one feel that Spring is really here.
Thanks ever so much for the things you sent last week.
Sunday night Stelle & Marion came to supper & we talked for a long time afterward. Sally had a fine time at West Point. Jo, the girl she took up with her last year is going to be married to the cadet this coming December. That certainly does seem young to get married, for she is only nineteen.
Thurs. we are going to have an identification quiz in Myth-.
There is going to be a Rocky house dance April 27 & a college Spring Dance some time in May so maybe I can go to one of them. I have been observing my hair of late & I think that something drastic should be done to it during Spring Vacation. That also reminds me - have you been able to see any more people about a job for the summer - try the department stores in Waterbury.
I may go over to a Barn Dance at Mass. State this coming Sat with Stelle -- Do you think I should write to Howard? I don't think it is my place to write to him any more.
By the way, my stocking have [sic] gotten down to 2 1/2 pairs, so I would be in a receptive mood any time you might be in a sending mood. I must start in now & read some history.
Lotions of love,
BessieP.S.
Could use some more stamps.
